We are looking for a part time dog handler to join our pack.
Our work week is Monday - Saturday.
You must be able to work Tuesday, Wednesday and every other Saturday.
This is an afternoon shift that starts at 12:
30.
While there are lots of snuggles and play time with the dogs there is also work that needs to be performed for the safety and health of our furry friends.
If you just want to sit and cuddle dogs this is not the job for you.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
Cleaning - picking up poop, pee and vomit.
Sweeping, vacuuming, changing mop buckets, washing dog dishes and sanitizing.
Protecting the dogs safety - watching dog body language and stepping in to prevent fights and breaking them up should they happen, redirecting inappropriate dog behavior and all tasks necessary to ensure the dogs go home happy and healthy.
Customer Service - Checking dogs in and out and communicating with the dog parents how their dog did for the day.
You must be able to make small talk and be friendly.
Excellent communication skills are required in order to keep the team informed on any issues that arise with the dogs.
You must be a team player.
We have a great team that works well together.
You will have outside shifts.
If it's raining, snowing, 10 degrees or 100 degrees, if there is a dog outside a human must be outside.
You must be:
Able to stand for your entire shift, able to lift 30lbs, a quick learner, a dog and cat lover, comfortable around lots of dogs, not afraid to get dirty and able to use a computer and phone apps.
You need to be able to learn the dogs names.
You must be reliable! If you tend to call out from work a lot this is not the job for you.
It puts the dogs safety in jeopardy.
You must have your own reliable transportation and not rely on rides from someone else.
Your commute must be 25 minutes or less.
Prior doggie daycare experience is not required but a love of dogs is.
You must be over 18 and have the ability to commit to this job for more than 3 months.
This is not a temporary position or a job for a high school student.
You will be asked to take a drug screening test.
